Power Curve Regions

Defining the different regions of the power curve

The regions in a power curve are shown to below in an effort to have consistent vocabulary when reviewing a power curve:

  • Region 2 begins at the cut-in speed
  • Region 2.5 is the inflection point and is often referred to as the “knee” of the curve
  • Region 3 is the rated power speed until the cut-out
